It takes quite a bit to over run the 3" maf, and it will not be over run by most people. There is no difference in accuracy between the two when they are being ran within their capability.

If i had to to do it all over again i would run the 3" because i still have the abs box on my car and the 3.5 is hard to fit.

I am on a evo 3 16g so i don't think i would over run either setup. But now i am going to speed density with the car so i will be selling my setup.

Im sure this is a rhetorical question but Is your maft for a 1g or 2g plug?
Do you have any pics of your 3.5 under the hood and how it looks on the pipeing?

I dont have ABS, or a battery or anything under the hood that gets near the pipeing.
