You should have something like this on the firewall or in the engine bay.

Also you will have a 3"GM maf up in the upper intercooler pipe. This will be a custom piece and very noticable. If you dont know you dont have it. I would recirculate the bov anyways. Its not good for the motor. You will only run rich and backfire sometimes between shifts. Are you sucking in unmetered air on the intake or is it aftermarket?

no i dont have the 3 inch maf setup on the upper intercooler piping, and i have the stock maf sensor on the injen intake pipe, i heard that if u dont have the maf-t then the car would be running poorly, my car has been running fine since i got it about 7 months ago, i get a backfire every now and then.

Only stock bov's (1g and 2g) make the car run like ass because they leak at idle. You can vent most aftermarket bov's just fine, only downside is running rich during shifts.

You need to recirculate the BOV. The stock maf reads that air and needs it to run correctly. You get a backfire because of this. It does not madder if you have aftermarket or not. Someone said that you can dump fuel between shifts and the fuel will ignite in the cat, and thats the back fire, which is not good. Just do it right!!!!

I agree with jay Just recirculate the BOV is the sound really that important of it venting off

stop being cheap all of you.

You say you have no problems but you will. Then when you do you will call your car a POS. There is no need to ruin a good motor. Expecially when it can be done for so few dollars.

You will definitely get better gas mileage also when you recirculate. This topic has been beaten to death. Do it the right way and recirculate or if you really want to vent then get the MAF-T setup or get out.

I really dont get it at all, i vented my bov jsut to see what it would do and it feeels the same, i also plugged up the recirc tube partially, so its getting a little air still.

WEll im not taking any chance so im not doing it but just saying, people who do it never report any problems.

Actually people that have done it report many problems. Im one of them. There are a few that say they dont notice a problem like the OP. Then he said he does misfire, there is a problem right there and he stated he ran fine.

if its not borke, dont fix it.

Idealy, you want to use your computer as accuratly as possible. Venting out metered air will make it run rich, but wont/shouldnt really effect you.
