Steinbach,
my question is that when i get the gm maf and the translator, what will i do to make the translator run on all my stock stuff like the injectors and stuff, and up until my logger comes in, You can check my profile for mods
Thanks-

In order to compensate for stuff like larger injectors, you can turn the knobs and increase certain values in the ECU. If you don't turn the knobs at all, it should be the stock setting.

"zeroed" out.

but your fuel wont be as tuned as it is now.
if that was the case people would just turn the injector compensation knob and leave the rest alone.

you may have to play with it a little to get it right. at your own risk, not advised to adjust fuel without logger.

when you say logger, would a wideband be good enough just to make sure you dont run too lean? Yes i realize that you might not get the most power, and a wideband isnt exactly a "logger" but if the main purpose was engine safety to keep it from leaning out, will that work?

Id say get a logger they are much cheaper than it would be to buy a wideband. You cant read knock or timing with a wideband.

wide bands are very nice.

in the past ive tuned by "feel" and never had a problem.
I was always gonna get a logger and or wideband and tune it, but never got around to it.

my current car is going to be Maft'd with a wideband.

Not Completely True. There is a list of injectors and how the dials should be set. One of the knobs needs to be set to "2" for the 450's. I can't remember which, but the list will show you how to set it up.

your right. I didnt specify you "had" you select injector comp knob in my post.

could have been misleading

but im sure he knew this. or atleast would read instructions that come with the maft.

I just bought a gm maf and translator from my friend but i dont have any paperwork on it. Does anyone know were i can find info on tuning the translator as of now my car is basically stock besides a few add ons

thanks
john
