Hey guys, what up?

another question....

I'm seriously considering running a Mass Air Flow Translator set up with a 3" GM MAS. question is what all do i need...

I'm thinkin besides the obvious (MAF-T and the GM MAS) i'm thinkin i'm gonna need a new intake pipe and a new upper intercooler pipe. Right now i'm running a simple injen pipe off the MAS into the turbo with a K&N filter off the other end of the MAS. Hoping i can use the same filter because i just bought the damn thing!:p

Let me know how close i am to right

Thanks guys

Are you on the stock upper intercooler pipe? If so, then yes, you'll need a new UICP. If you have an aftermarket one already, you just saw off a section of it, and use some silicone adapters to hook the MAS up.

You can also hook the MAS to the injen pipe with some couplers and put the filter on that (known as the draw-thru setup). You will have to keep the BOV recirculated if you set it up this way.

Yea, i'm still runnin the stock upper intercooler pipe so i'll need to find a new pipe... but other than that...that's it?

You will notice an increase in spool-up and if you get a hard UICP and go with the blow-thru setup, you'll be able to vent to the atmosphere, which is always a plus. I have the MAF-T setup on my 1g and it is amazing. But one thing that you'll have to have is a Air/Fuel guage or some other way of checking the Air/Fuel mixture, because the MAF-T allows adjustment of the mixture. But if you go with the recommended specs in the manual, you should be fine.

If you want to tune, you'll need a wideband o2 or a logger. A blinky air/fuel gauge is useless for tuning. Yes the MAF-T allow of fuel trim adjustments if you are running a bigger pump and 550cc injectors. But if you are stock fuel pump and stock injectors, zero out all your knobs and you will be fine.

yea i have a narrowband air/fuel gauge and an safc so i can tune off of their or those but i'm still running a stock fuel system.... that's next in my upgrade line after the MAFT setup but i have a palm to log on if anyone has the software or cable for OBD II or knows where to get it..... hit me up
