ALright so my car was running great boosting like normal with no worries. The next day the temp had dropped and it was only like 5 degrees out. I started my car and noticed it had a hard time staying started. On the drive to work I noticed it hesitated to start moving when letting out the clutch but once I got on the gas it pulled fine. So I check under the hood and noticed cracks in the front plastic piece of the MAF where the air filter attaches. So I ordered a metal filter adapter online but right now the car runs like shit. I guess I dont understand why running no air filter is making it run so bad I mean the sensor is still intact so shouldnt it still be doing its job the same? I never tried running the car witout an air filter before so I dont know what it should be doing, but the whole car sounds different from a start. Someone please let me know whats up.

ok did i read that right, your running your car without and air filter? and wondering why it runs like crap theres a reason cars come with air filters even on turbo applications to keep dirt and anything else that will harm your engine out of there it also helps create vaccuum so when the car idles it doesnt get to much air and run more lean and have a diff A/F ratio then your stock computer is used to making it in a way confused and making your car run like crap at idle put the old one back on and just duct tape it or something until you get a new air filter and the see if it performs any better at idle

Sorry I made it sound like I was driving it the whole time with no air filter. I drove around after I had installed the adapter because I went to autozone to try and buy a new K&N that would fit the new 4.5 in inlet. Either way you put me at ease saying its supposed to run like crap without an air filter. I guess I just thought since the sensor should still be getting a clear signal it would be fine.:coy:
