My setup won't allow me to run a 2g MAF or believe me I would have went back to it ASAP. I've read hundreds of threads and can't find my answers.

Their simple, does the distance between the BOV and the GM sensor matter?
Also does the distance between the throttle body and the GM MAF matter?
Would rotation of the sensor itself affect AFR so much to make it run lean?
Next is the rpm wire on the MAFT necessary to install? I've read threads saying no/yes but I'm wondering what the general consensus is now.

My issue is after my rebuild and install of MAFT etc. My AFR at idle went from 14:8 to 16:2-to--, I have rigged up my old 2g MAS to make sure it wasn't engine related and it idle fine, but like I said I can't run this setup as it just won't work.

The only code I have is for the rear O2 since I don't have it installed. Currently I just want to set MAFT to stock injected for a 2g and tune with SAFC, and I've followed all the threads I can find and no changes on the dial regardless of making it super rich or super lean changes anything. My SAFC worked fine before my rebuild and the wires where never touched. I'm to the point where I'm about to get DSMLink if I can find an ECU to accommodate it.

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or have it set up wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

I know this may sound stupid but check to see which way the arrow is pointing on the GM maf. Make sure the arrow is pointing towards the throttle body. The rpm wire is not necessary but if u do want to take full advantage of the maft then might as well hook it up.

1. The distance between the GM maf and the BOV only matters when the BOV opens, and you can tune around it.

2. Distance to the TB can be a concern... The important thing is that there is smooth airflow through the GM Maf, it operates best when installed between two straight pipe sections, so that there are no bends immediately before or immediately after the sensor.

And like TsiJohn333 said check the arrow

The GM Maf + Maft combo is far from perfect, even GM Maf + Dsmlink requires some airflow adjustments to get a solid idle.

How are your A/F at cruise?

Does the distance between the bov and the gm sensor matter?... No

Does the distance between the throttle body and the gm maf matter?... As long as they are not right on top of(next to) each other no. 6" + is good.

Would rotation of the sensor itself affect AFR so much to make it run lean? No, but your maft settings would.

Next is the rpm wire on the maft necessary to install? I believe it is. I did.
