Im buying a 2.3 kit with main studs. I understand it has to be line bored. Do I need yo specify bearing size? Im thinking if its getting bored out then I need larger bearings. Correct?

if its a 6 bolt motor then i would buy the kiggly main girdle before you have it line bored. if its an un cut crank then it would be standard sized bearings when you get it back. they take material off the caps, which football shapes the bore slighty, then they line bore it to get the straightness and correct size back.

This is correct.

The machine shop will line hone/bore the main journals back to the factory bearing housing bore.

You will need diffrent bearing size if the crank is ground undersize
 
you can reuse the main studs and head studs, unlike the factory bolts they are not torque to yield. so they will use your main studs
