lowering

I have a 99 gsx and want to lower it. I don't it very low and don't want it to ride bad. What do I need to get? I don't want to spend a lot of money. If anyone has used for sale pm me. Thanks

Go with tokico hp struts and tein s springs. Great ride and not as expensive. Only lower around 1.2 inch

Are you after looks or performance? I assume looks since this is in the performance forum.

I picky when it comes to off the shelf spring/shock combos cause a lot of it is too soft.
However Eibach's Pro Kit springs with KYB AGX shocks will give you a 1.3" drop which is perfect on a DSM. The shocks are adjustable so you can make them stiff or soft depending on your tastes.

I have a set of tokico red springs stillo n struts , one of them is blown tho if interested in the springs pm me i might take em off and sell em they lower I wanna say 2-2.5

My GSX has about 2 inches of clearance and even though it looks good its definitely not practical, i can't go any where with out scraping big time

I had progress springs on my GST, it had a real nice stance. They drop the car 1.5 inches. They are a little pricey but they where quality springs and weren't to low. They where both looks and practicality. I hear sprint springs are very similar. Look into both of those springs.

That depends if you like the camber or not. If you only drop it 1.5 inches the camber wont be really extreme. But I wouldn't recommend running any camber if you get a lot of rain or snow where you live. Here in Oregon we don't much of that in the valley... even though it rains a lot its so minor it's not a big deal.

From what I heard. Many people get a front camber kit because its really cheap so it doesnt hurt. And they always recommend getting an alignment after a suspension drop.

when i had them on my car, i had the camber kit, they where real nice springs, i kind of regret i sold them. I think anything over an inch drop needs camber kits, but these springs had a real nice drop. It looked real aggressive and it wasn't to low or to high.

Amazing combo. Thats what I have on my car right now and I couldn't be happier. If I went 18's it would fill in the wheel well a little more but I'm happy with my 17's. There smooth over bumps and tight in the curves.

I'm not a fan of Tein products. I've had them and while they are all JDM tyte, they suck performance wise imo.

im not really familiar with that particular setup. i do know that Tein products tend to run more than other brands, at least their coilovers do. if you want a subtle drop id rock the eibachs. i dont have a lot of experience with tokicos since my TSi is on stock suspension and my spyder is on a set of cheap coilovers, and it rides like a donkey. best thing to do is just try to find some threads and reviews on the tokicos. i havent heard anything bad about them though.
