1G Lowered car effect on tire sizing?

I have plans to turn my 94 laser rs fwd into a fast eco box DD. I have 215/65/16 LRR tires for that purpose. It took alot of searching around here and on google, but I ultimately decided I could get away with it, without rubbing.....but that assumption would be on a car with stock ride height.

This car has been lowered with Megan Racing Springs.

How do I know if this combo will rub and where will it rub? If the rubbing point is generally caused by rubbing against the strut tower, then I can't see a lowered car being an issue.

Any info about this scenario?

I have a 2" drop and biggest I can fit is 225/50/16 mine is awd I would think it would be the same for fwd.

Wheel offset, how low, and how stiff your spring rates are will all factor in to what tire size can fit without rubbing.

Any particular reason you chose such a big tire. This also affects gear ratios. There is no way for us to tell where it will rub. Im surprised those fit at all and dont hit the strut. Your variables include wheel width, offset, amount of drop, bump stops, spring rate etc. Are they on the car now?

See the first sentence of my first post e.g. I want it to be a fast ecobox dd. I already know that it would have effected gear ratios.

No, not on the car now.

I was going to use these on my stock height 93 AWD, but lost motivation for that car.

Well....fast and ecobox doesn't make sense to me. I also don't think these will fit on the car at all. It will be close on the strut I would think.

Different strokes for different folks, but there are a few others like me who go this route. I'd rather enjoy my tough commute in a lively car in the middle of the night than my boring MK1 focus that puts me to sleep.

It might also save me a minute or 2 on the back roads, which counts on a commute like mine.

35 mpg in an MK1 focus with a terrible coefficient of drag or 35 mpg in an interesting car with a cd of .29

I'll take the DSM.

Unfortunately, I don't think they will fit either.

Maybe I could move the springs onto one of the other cars.
