lowered car, WTF??????

Lowered my suspension on my 2g car, and the schocks seem to be lookin weird. it just pops up in the middle of the mounts.

Did you leave out any pieces when you put the upper mounts back together? That isn't right, the nut should hold the strut down.

i believe you are missing a sleeve on the shock rod

Looks to me like groove A is supposed to fit on lip C

Then it looks as if the bolt is supposed to be be torqued down expanding the rubber piece then preventing the rod from popping through the way it's doing now

My 1G had the same problem turns out I left out the metal sleeve that is INSIDE the dust cover for the hydraulic rod of the strut. Look to see if you left yours in.

I live in the north tons of rain and snow and mine isnt no where near that bad wow i feel bad for u guys

my rust was so bad on my rears when I did them a couple days ago.. looked FAR worse than that.

but my guess is that you put the hat [ or whatever you call it, the large metal mount with 3 bolts that you physically mount to the car ] on before you put the rest of the suspension in.

the only thing I remember being on top of the hat is piece A in 14.5drift's picture. so put that little rubber thing back under the hat

If you need some of the OEm upper suspension pieces,,like the,,
upper mounting cup, upper brushing, metal collar, bump stop,,
I have an extra of all those pieces from a shock/spring job a few weeks ago. PM me if interested.

Having that metal collar crumble in your hand and then having the mounting cup rustweld to the shock rod can turn a one day job to a 1 week job.
