Well i have never actually posted on the forum because i usally read other posts to get my answer but i guess i just need to post this time!ha. anyway i can not figure out what is wrong with my car. I just installed a boost gauge to help figure out whats going on because i feel it was turbo related. The boost gauge reads about 20 vacumn at idle which is normal.the idle is also jumpy from 600-1000 but sometimes is steady. however when i drive and i give it full throttle i boost only at 7psi and i have no power. my car hesitates all the way through acclerating. it almost feels like it is holding back, and jumpy feeling. my car feels like its running awful and is not fun to drive. i am also getting terrible gas mileage and i think my car is running rich from how my exhaust smells at idle. my car was in storage for about 2 years and its been on the road since last fall. it has been well maintained and but my car has been feeling awful when i drive and doesnt have the juice it should have. i dont have many mods at all. i have a k&n air filter with hacked airbox and the free mods. no boost controler, stock everything prettymuch except a big 16g that was installed before it was put into storage. i want to upgrade but i need to find out the problems before i invest anymore money into this car. thanks for taking time to read this,

Check to see if you have a boost leak.[/Q

That is what i thought could be the problem, how do i make a boost leak tester? i have seen home made ones that can be made cheap. i have stock intercooler piping so that could be rotten. also when i drive it to about 7 psi i get fuel cut or something. i will try and do a boost leak test asap whn i find how to make a tester.

I know ive been a member now for almost 4 years and i should know better.ha i will build a boost leak tester tommorow. i am just hoping to get the car running right before this wonderful syracuse winter hits! as for the fuelcut issue i know what fuel cut feels like and i am definetly getting it when i accelerate hard. i just replaced the fuel filter so that cant be it. could a boost leak also cause fuel cut? i hope i just have a boost leak and nothing major , my gas mileage is ###### around 10mpg city atmost. thanks

Boost leak is the number one cause of fuel cut, hitting it at 7psi you must either have huge leaks or a defective maf. Complete your car profile so we can better help you.
