I'm pretty sure I found the problem. While I was under my car checking things out,I noticed that that back of my motor(between the fire wall)was all wet.Looked like oil.I know this motor doesnt leak or burn a drop of oil so It couldn't be oil.It was gas!Turns out to be a blown gasket between the head and the intake manifold.Right were the injectors are!I guess under full throttle it would blow the gas right out!thus the smell of gas every time it went lean.So I got plenty of gasket paper but,do they make a higher pressure gasket for this?

OMG!You have no idea what I've been goin through. The hardest part is not being able to hit the gas when some **** in a honda pulls next to me and starts revin his motor like he wants to race.I just wave to him and let him go.

LOL nice...im having the same problem im missing my front o2 sensor so im gussing the problem is coming from that so im going to install a new denso one and see if that takes care of the problem

2G Turbo DSM Boost Leaks -How to test and fix

Scroll down a bit and READ!!

You want help? Then listen when someone talks to you. Instead of just opening your mouth.

Check this out (posted on the 13th)
Try a BLT before anything.

Again on the 16th

Again, check for boost leaks (see if she can hold 20psi on a blt).

MB

Again on the 16th after seeing you have disregarded advice and continue to ask the same question

I'm out :banghead:. Good luck.........

MB
And one more time (on 5/22) because I thought maybe you could listen

Find the boost leak and send me the $50 ;)

Seriously, do a BLT and tell us what psi it holds and for how long.

MB

YOU MUST VERIFY THE BASICS FIRST! When you are working on a turbo system, this is the most common problem. And this one doesn't cost you anything but time.

Now, this may or may not fix your problem BUT, it MUST be done so that you can continue on to check other things.

Sorry if I'm jumping down your throat (its actually unlike me) but.......meh, do the basics first.

After him giving you the answer to what would have fixed your problem, 3 different times, I say you pay the man 50 bucks. If you would have done a BLT from the get go you would have found the leak at the gasket and been able to replace this back in early, mid-May. All it takes is a 2 dollar pvc end cap and a $0.40 bike pump nozzle. oh and any coupler off your IC piping. So.....3 dollars and you would have found your problem 3 weeks ago... Nothing like money wasted on advice not taken...

Lol, appreciate it Adam, but OP, keep your cash. I don't want it. We aren't even positive that this will totally fix your problem (but I got an inkling that it will help a whole lot ;)).

Meh, its just the point that the BLT is the most basic of tests for the turbo set-up. Its like the first place to start.

Here's hoping this fixes your problem :thumb:

Especially advise from Bullet, of all people.... He would be one of the first people to listen to, not completely disreguard.
sounds like someone owe's bullet 50 bucks...

accually the car is doin the same old shit even with all the boost leaks fixed so dont start droolin on yourself! The smell of gas is coming from the gasket under my back seat. For some reason that gasket keeps blowin out.I ordered a new wastegate because I found out that my cheap nockoff that came with the turbo kit is not working! Now that I got my new boost gauge,I see that boost is goin up to 10 psi every time I get the hesitation and I smell the gas spraying out from the seal on the fuel pump cover.Buyer beware of ebay turbo kits! The only thing left from the kit that works is the turbo,Manifold ,and intercooler. And the HKS bov.I'm really surprised how well the turbo works.Even just driven around normally boost builds up quickly.as long as I dont boost over 5-6 psi I can drive all day without any problems.

Drooling on myself?! Really? Let's see if I said it would totally fix your problem :hmm:

So you FINALLY went out and did a blt. THE most basic of tests to set up for testing other things. Well gall dang good for you. I absolutely know what you need to check next (from your most recent information. You seem to just put out info a little at a time) but I am not going any further. I am done trying to help ungrateful little punks who know it all, but know nothing.

This has been an exercise in futility for me........

No need to get cocky,I didn't mean to hurt your feelings!I allways have listened to your advise.I couldn't have done any of this work with out you guys.As far as the BL,I new I had one somewere .I just couldn't find it.It was in a tuff spot. But now I got too much pressure in my gas tank.I keep blowing out the rubber gasket at the pump cover

You're hitting what IS referred to as fuel cut with our cars. Just back off the boost and you'll be fine until you upgrade the fuel system. Please just end the insanity and try to be very specific and more intuitive with your posts and you'll get all the help you need....just not from Mark.

My new WG is being deliverd today.I ordered it with a 5.25psi spring. Can I ajust my boost up with my BC, or do I have to put in a 11psi spring and adjust it down?I allready have a 7,11,15psi springs from the WG that came with the turbo kit.I'm hoping that they will also fit a Tial WG.

Resolved,Finally fixed.Since Ive replaced the gasket at the fuel pump cover there has been no more loss of power or smell of gas.Car no longer runs lean under boost.I'd like to thank all the guys whom helped! DSM tuners.com is the best!!!

A MBC cannot lower boost levels below what the spring pressure is. If you wastegate spring is 7lbs, you can only go above. The MBC restricts airflow to the wastegate, so that the wastegate ONLY sees it's activation pressure, not the pressure actually being created by the turbo.

A word to the wise... we will absolutely not tolerate any rude or disrespectful comments toward our site team. They graciously volunteer their time and expertise, often without even being thanked. You're entitled to your opinions, but don't ask for advice and get upset if you're told something you don't want to hear.
