I just got the aeromotive afpr, guage, and s/s return line install kit from slowboy. I have a few ideas on where I am going to install it but I would like to see what you did.

Thanks,
Ben

MyBeatGSX - Where did you get that gauge? It's kinda funny - The company I work for, owns Allstar Performance. So any products out there came from our warehouse here.

I don't see much of our products on street cars as much as circle tracks cars, but it's cool seeing other DSMers using Allstar though. :thumb:

Heres my Aeromotive AFPR...

I made a custom bracket and bolted onto the stock bolts, it just barely misses the hood.

Here's my install:

-Paxton AFPR
-Venom High flow fuel rail
-6an fuel filter
-6an braided line form filter to fuel rail

For what it's worth, I tried just using o-rings again instead of copper and noticed the rings imediately started to twist out of place as I was tightening the fittings so I opted to put a nylon washer around the outside edge of the o-ring to keep it from spreading. The combination seems to be working great. I'll post pics up later.

Which regulator are you using?

Well for as many different mounting options shown in this thread, I mounted mine in a way I haven't seen anyone else do it. The adjustment screw is tight up underneath the drip edge of the firewall. I drilled an access hole under the weatherstrip, pull it back and make the adjustment.:thumb:

It came with the install kit that my local shop includes with the regulators. Looks like I got a pimpin gauge.

Nice install, 99redgst!:thumb:

Is there any downside to making the return line longer? Besides cost.

If the fuel has a longer path to the FPR and back to the tank, wouldnt it lower the response time of bleeding off excess pressure?

I still havent installed mine entirely. Im still waiting on that dang ORB plug!
:notgood:(Backorder) I have everything else. I'll post pics after the install is finished.

No downside that I am aware of, as long as the return line is of correct size.

Well, I got it all done last night and I have to say the most difficult part was placement. I made three brackets and ended up using the last one. The tension on the lines from the other two brackets was too great.

Clearance was tight on the manifold side. About 1/2". Didn't have to extend the return hose.

In the process of installing everything I decided to relocate the coil pack. Also relocated the EVAP solenoid too.

Its a strip of 1/8" aluminum I bought at Home Depot.

After it was bent into shape, I wet sanded it starting with 400 grit, 600, 800, and finishing with 1200. Then I took Mother's Mag Polish and went over it for about 10 minutes. It polished up very nice. Almost a mirror shine!

I installl my AFPR last night. I will be posting pics later tonight or over the weekend.

But to answer your question most 2g guys will leave the FP solenoid plugged in but they take vaccuum hoses off the solenoid. In this thread they mentioned that 2g will throw a CEL if you unplug it. Well I wanted to see if that was really true well i took off the FP solenoid, and there light has yet to come on. Anyone got ideas why the check engine light didnt come on??

I've asked the same question bro ROFL. I'm putting mine back on, just to see if it will help or even hurt. I haven't gotten a conclusive answer, so I'm doing it for my own satisfaction and resolve. I've read in my post that I started about the solenoid that it doesn't hurt and from other posts that I've searched and read too.
What section, in Home depot did you find the aluminum? The guys in my Home Depot don't care, they just get paid to stroll around.

You've got a freaky DSM? I've read the same, I'll unplug mine to, just to find out.

You may have to drive it for awhile for the ECU to see that it's not receiving a signal from it, but if you've already done that, then it may not come on.
