Midwest z fest is in Arozona this year "The Midwest’s premier annual gathering of Z-car enthusiasts is set for August 29–September 1 in Tulsa". Must be thinking of a different event. I wanted to go but cant see drive 4 hours past branson for it:notgood:
Yeah, you are right. I meant Midwest Z Heritage Fest. It is in Chicago on June 6th, 7th, and 8th. The g/f and I are going and I am trying to talk your brother into going along too. (Which is funny because I don't even have a nissan and your brother does :p )

We'll see if my car is even done by then, hopefully I'll see it back Friday, if not and I have to work on it during the week, it'll be a stretch.

the only way that I cant come is if I dont work due to rain.

Alrighty guys, I got a big problem and I need help. My car is down for some reason and I'm not the world's greatest mechanic. Not only that, I don't have money to fix or tow this thing to a feasable location. The biggest problem is that if I don't get this car moved it's gonna get towed. Now I think the problem is something to do with the fuel rail or FPR but I'm not entirely sure. The car is stuck in Altoona next to Target. Every bit of help would be appreciated. I will be here all day tomorrow with the car if you want to stop by and help. My number is 515-822-5123, name's Anthony. I'll answer at any time so feel free to call. Please stop by if able, thanks again.

does it just turn over

call or text (text would be better) me at 371-1614, names ryan

It turns over and starts, but it dies at idle unless I give it throttle, just barely is needed. I'm thinking FPR because the entire thing I can spin with my fingers. That and what I believe is the vacuum line just slides right off now with the slightest nudge. Any ideas?

can you just quickly tell me what FRP is i cant think of anything that it can be

FPR = fuel pressure regulator
I have a n/t car so the FPR is on the passenger side of the fuel rail, attached right to the tip of the rail.

No, the FPR is attached to the end of the fuel rail. I can take the FPR in 2 fingers and spin it 360 degrees with no resistence. There is also a line coming off the side of the FPR which I believe is a vacuum line. It slides right off as if someone has lubed the thing in oil.

its mostly likely the fpr cause it wouldnt be the fuel pump and the rail should be good

is it the 4g63

No, I have the 420A unfortunatelly. I'm hoping this is an easy fix I'm just not sure how to do this. Even if this is the FPR I have no clue how to fix the damn thing. ####ing DSM.

ya i know how you feel

it probably just bolts on i dont know cuase i have the 4g63

That's the thing, there are no bolts, the thing looks like it just slides in. I got a brother that works for O'Reilly's so I get parts really cheap, the hard part is the labor I have to do. If you want to stop out tomorrow and look things over or just shoot the shit, give me a call or text.

From 9 in the morning till about 5 that evening. Got a temper-mental brother that needs watching. My girlfriend will be running in and out between jobs visiting me but the only other company I got is my 5 month old daughter and a bunch of 10 year olds.

ya shit ill stop by with some of my friends um my number is 371-1614 and my names ryan

ill call you when im on my way out there and for directions to where it is at

It's easy I promise, if you can find Altoona Target I can guide you. I saved your number in my phone. Looking forward to meeting some new people.

k one of my friends has a rs eclipse and one wants a gsx so there mostly dsmers but ill give you a call tomorrow around like 10 or 11

+1 for FPR

With a mix of that and possible leakage in the EGR from that tube, I'd say you're pretty much set on what's keeping the car from idling, and therefore in you need to replace. Get a new FPR, put it on, if it still rotates, then you'll need to replace the rail, too. EGR tube may need to be replaced if the rubber is stretched out, which could be why that's loose.

Any idea how this happened? It seems odd that the FPR would just randomly become loose.

Hey switchblade, you didn't happen to be in Altoona on Sunday did you, cause I saw a red talon down by the soccer parks.

Alright everyone, I just went through this whole thread and sent everyone a PM reminding them of the upcoming meet. If you got 2, I apologize, there are alot of people to try and remember. Hoping to see everyone there.

Turnout's gonna be huge... every DSMer I've run into in the past month has asked the same question: "Are you going to the meet on the 14th?"
