1G Looking at 1993 Eagle Talon TSi

I found a Eagle Talon TSi 5 speed with 150000 miles for sale asking 4000 obo it comes with the following.
Stage 3 ACT clutch, short throw shifter, front mounted intercooler, K&N airfilter, Evo 3 16g big turbo, blow off valve.

Said it had the engine rebuild at around 120000 mile and was wondering what I should look out for?

Don't take there word its rebuilt. Seems like everyone on craigslist thinks there engine and trans was rebuilt. Unless they have paperwork don't believe it.

Make sure the 16g is not a knock off. Same for the intercooler.

In any case. I might go $2000 TOPS.
Feel better with $1500.

For a rebuilt engine you look for, New crank pulley, any leaks, New looking freeze plugs, engine should be painted and not all oily or rusty. New belts, New spark plug wires. Painted valve covers...Tell them to pull off the timing belt inspection plastic peice and look at the belt for wear.

Show me the reciepts. Sure it was redone not, I need proof personally.

If he doesnt have proof of the engine being rebuilt , i wouldn't pay more then 2k for it. If he does have paper work and the 16g is a true mhi then maybe 3K if the body is ok.

the body is freshly painted,3" exast all the way back,blow off valve boost controler,eprom ecu brand new,new downpipe nuts,new collector gasket,a/c delete kit evaporator brakets hoses gone,mishimoto racing radiator,new 255 fuel pump, magnicore spark plug wires

The bad
3 tears in driver seat,front fender dinged up, clutch cables need realignment

Doing test drive hopefully this Saterday if all goes well. Keep you posted
