1G 1993 Eagle Talon TSi 7 bolt

hi i have a friend who bought a 1993 Eagle Talon TSi but it came with a 7 bolt the original owner said. Will this motor also get crank walk eventually or is it only for the 2g bodies?Isn't it suppose to have a 6 bolt in it.

The 6 bolts came from 90 to mid 92 after that, 7bolt. Any engine can walk, but I believe the first gen 7bolts don't tend to walk as much as the 2nd gens.

Don't sweat crankwalk, it's way overrated. The way I see it, if it walks, then swap to 6-bolt, if not, then mod away. They're tons of successfully 7bolts out there.

Exactly.

You don't have much more to worry about with your 1g 7 bolt than you would with a 6 bolt, other than torquing that 7th flywheel bolt.

I know it is a lot more rare for a 1g 7bolt to walk, but mine did it a little more then a year ago. Luckily it was before i bought it and my friends dad who owned it is a mechanic for Chrysler he rebuilt the motor. 20,000 miles since i bought it, lots of mods, and it still has 2 thousandths of crank endplay. Its been fine since (hopefully stays that way!!!). I'm building up a 6 bolt and planning to drop it in next spring just to be safe.

Good luck and your buddy should be fine one of my buddies has a 93 tsi with 120,000 miles and its still going strong.

thanks forthe advice guys but my 1995 eagle got crankwalk luckilyi bought a 6 bolt so imin the process of building that.
