Hello everybody.
I Was wondering, i have my first DSM, and i want to mod it reeeeeeal good. I know it´s kinda stupi, ´cause i don´t make 12's in the 1/4 mile.
BUT, i know what it takes, i know it will be tough, but this is my first proyect and i want to plan it correctly.
I want to know if i can reach the high 11's, or 12's in the 1/4 mile with an A/T.
I plan on getting a Garrett GT35R and EVERY support mod needed (i can't get DSMlink  ).
Also which parts are a MUST for high power A/T's?
Do you think i can get at least in the 12's mark with the garrett?
Is the tranny in my car weak or does it break easily? (2g)

With that being said, welcome to the Automatic DSM community! Check out the timeslips and check out some of the autos running 11's and 12's. Your modlist should be well thought out depending on how your going to run the car. I'll go down my current/future mod list for my project.
Basics Intake/exhaust:
Free mods, logger, intake pipe w/ hacked off air can, and sheet metal heat box, 3" turbo back exhaust/high flow cat, EVO III O2 housing, Tubular manifold w/ wastegate mount, SMIM w/ mustang throttle body, FMIC w/ short route piping, GM MAS and translator. Also I got a fluidyne racing radiator and a 1.3bar rad cap..
Fuel:
255 walboro fuel pump rewired w/ AFPR, 850cc FIC injectors, DSMlink chip for tuning. Turbo I'm still debating on maybe a GT3076RLE, or I might go a bit smaller like a 50trim.. Maybe a water/myth injection kit.
Suspension:
Larger swaybars, top strut bars, coilovers w/ 2" drop, 17x8 wheels.
For the Automatic:
All I have now is a modified valve body and shift kit from IPT, end clutch(not a performance upgrade, they tend to slip out), a larger A/T cooler(and use the stock A/T cooler as an engine oil cooler). I'm going to get a higher stall torque converter, probably 4k.

There's countless other I cant think of off the top of my hand, but that should give you an idea. This should be putting down at least 450whp, as my street car(for the time being...)
The tranny in your car is not weak! And don't let anyone talk crap because your an automatic. Theres automatic DSMs putting down over 700whp. Russ Coxe ran his 95 automatic to 9.7seconds w/ a pretty much stock transmission.

Good Luck!

I know you are eager to go fast, but how is the overall condition of the car itself? A modded car is no good if the car does not run. Make sure you have all of the basic maintenance done before throwing money into go fast goodies. Welcome to the DSM's!! Good luck to you :thumb:

Why spend $1500 on a GT35R that lags like a mother when you can make high 11's with a EVO III or a 50 trim.

why cant you get dsmlink???

If I'm not mistaken the fastest atx runs dsmlink for management and is in the 9s....

search for it you'll find alot of help on this and contact ipt becuase you'll be sending them your paychecks

Exactly.

You should buy a cheaper turbo and then buy DSMlink with the money you save. A GT35R is overkill if you're looking for high 11's, low 12's.

Speaking from a 35R owner's point of view, that turbo is not a lag monster. Anyone who hasn't owned always say they're full of lag. Anyways, runnin 11s on an A/T w/ an EVO III will definitely be very hard. BTW, spoolup on A/T is a bit different then M/T.

I Agree it would be hard to get an evoIII in the 11's expecially since he has front wheel drive.

Well, first of all, thanks for your reply's. Of course i'm not limited to low 12's or 11's, if i can go any faster, believe me, i will. I just set this target, because i'm a FWD and A/T, but i just figured that 12's is very probable to do with a 35R. Yeah, seems i will need a few things from IPT, what kind of stall converter do you think i'll need?
It would be pretty cool if i can run the times i posted before, and well, my power goal is at least 450hp, would be great to get close to 600hp (if i can do it with my mods and turbo).
Feels kinda good to have an auto, since the challenge is a bit tougher (i think).
BTW, car is in top shape, running perfectly, new belts :thumb:
And i can't get DSMLink because since i live in Mexico, i think it's going to be hard to get an EPROM ECU, so please, if you know somewhere i can buy one, i'll appreciate it if you would let me know.
Thanks again, keep it comin'
