hey guys, im in the process of trying to purchase a 6bolt motor. in the description of the motor the seller lists it as a long block assembly. what exactly does a long block motor entail.

Typically a long block includes the short block (the pistons etc), the head, alternator etc. If the engine is used then ask the seller what he is including on his long block. Get photos and compression readings unless you are planning on a rebuild.

"Etc." should also include the intake and exhaust manifolds and turbo unless otherwise noted.

At least the block and head, but usually includes "everything", even the turbo. Usually the warranty (if any) only covers the head and block though.

Technically a long block is just the head and block, waterpump and timing components.

Basically it depends on who you are buying it from though, I agree with the above. You have to ask.
