Logging Trouble

I just got a logger cable today. I'm using a Palm IIIxe with Palm OS 3.5. I've tried both MMcd and Palm and Stein software. I am getting absolutely nothing logged. I am using the cradle that came with the palm. Should this work? Or will i have to find something else to connect to the logger cable. I'm not getting any type of errors from either of the programs. Any suggestions?

It depends, is your cradle a serial cradle? I used my pocketlogger palm pilot (really old palm) with ver3.0 and had not problems using my serial cradle hooked up to the obdII cable. I ended up ditching the cradle because the palm cell out of it too easily. If it's a usb cradle, then no it won't work.

it is not a usb cradle. it connects to the serial port.

Sorry, I ASSumed you had a USB cradle. I can't see any reason a serial cradle would not work unless there is a faulty connection point somewhere. Anyway, $20.00 for a cable you will probably end up wanting over the cradle anyway, is not such a bad deal. Sorry, I can't be more helpful. Good Luck.

so once you're palm is on and sitting in the cradle it's connected? you don't have to do anything special to open the connection to start logging?

I didn't really figure out what why it wasn't working with the palm because my roomate has a laptop that I just borrow and it works fine.

I first tried to log with the palm cradle also and had not luck. I purchased the hotsync cable instead and it worked fine. I dont know the difference between the cable and cradle but evidently, there is one. I got my cable from ebay brand new for $3 plus $2 shipping.
