Logging in an Automatic?

Everyone says to do a third gear pull at WOT, but that's going to be a bit difficult to accomplish in an auto. My logger should be here Wednesday so any help would be greatly appreciated.

You still do a 3rd gear pull, just make sure you turn off the OD then start the pull from 50mph. I log my car this way for a 3rd gear pull and it has been pretty successful so far. You should be able to log the run up to 7000rpm, just watch for big dips in timing, if you see that then the motor is knocking and you should let off the throttle.

What do you do, just ease into the gas until you're WOT to keep it from kicking down? I have an SAFC2 on the way as well.

I'm curious of which logger you are using. I use DIGIMOTO (not very good) with a built in dyno and 1/4 timer. I automatically assumed I couldn't do a dyno run since I have a auto transmission as well.

I may ease into it a little but as soon as I hit 60+mph im WOT and it doesn't kick down on me. Then again I have the upgraded end clutch kit and valve body from IPT and a higher stall tq converter.
