I need some help on locating the wastegate solenoid.I have researched many sites and on a 95 eagle talon tsi it is supposed to be in the very front passenger side(under the coolant reservoir) and the is nothing. Is there any possibility it would be located in a different spot? or maybe the first mechanic lacking dsm knowledge had lost it. Please help all i have left to do for my rebuild is run the vacuum lines.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah thats exactly what I meant sorry that is just what the Chilton's manual called. And it turns out there isn't one there. Would a MBC eliminate the need of the BCS? Or are there any other ways around it?

Yes the MBC eliminates the BCS.

Except on a 2G, I believe the ECU checks for the BCS being connected like it does with the rest of the solenoids. So it need to be connected to the electrical connector but out of the wastegate pressure lines. You can replace the BCS with the correct size resistance and wattage resistor to fool the ECU.

Double check the value and my math but assuming the BCS coil resistance is 38 ohms you'll need at least a 5 watt resistor. I = E/R W= I^2R
I = 14v/38ohms = 0.37A W = (0.37A)^2 * 38 ohms = 5.2W

If you don't have a CEL light, it's there somewhere.. or it has been faked like steve mentioned.

With an MBC, you completely bypass the solenoid. You just leave it hooked up electricly.
