i was wondering if u always need some kind of solenoid to control the wastegate. I know theres the one that comes stock, but my previous owner installed an electronic boost controller and threw away the stock BCS and then when he sold me the car took the viewing screen for the electronic boost controller so there was nothing controlling the wastegate. I unplugged the boost controller and connected the wastegate actuator to the boost hose hoping that direct boost pressure would make the wastegate do its job but it still doesnt open.
Do u always just need some type of controller whether that is the stock BCS or a mechanical boost controller or electronic boost controller to connect to the wastegate actuator?
