lobro rebuild??

is it possible to rebuild the lobro? if so where can i but the parts? the reason i ask is i had a clicking noise coming from the rear of my 91 tsi awd and a bad vibration as well. i took the driveshaft out and found that a carrier bearing was bad and upon inspection of the lobro i found that it had no grease inside and some of the balls inside was discolored from excesive heat as well as it being hard to move. any help would be greatly appreciated.. thanks

This is the lobro. OP, Id try JNZTUNING.COM. He may be able to get the parts for you, but I think you may have to replace the whole joint, unfortunately.

Yeah, I just went to their site and I noticed they changed the OE catalog a bit. Not to worry though, he has told me before that they have access to much more than what shows up on there. Might as well get the rebuild kit with the yoke, u joints and carriers as well.

hey oh91 how exactly do you tell if that is bad? I have a similar problem and im trying to find the culprit

well i took the driveshaft off and took it apart.. there wasnt any grease in it and the balls inside of it was discolored from extreme heat... that and it was hard to rotate and had points where it caught\

oh rebuilt kit for the lobro is $250 from mitsu.... ouch...

Ive been having a clicking thats coming from right below my shifter and a vibration as well. I have just assumed it was the carriers going bad and was getting ready to replace them very soon, could this also be the lobro causing this?

yeah to save time nd the hastle i'd just get a new joint bud its unfirtunate but lucky u caught it before any damage was done

yea cause the more i drove it the worse the vibration got.. so i parked it.. good thing i have an extra car to get to work ...

Ok thanks maybe Ill attempt that tomorrow and at least grease it up for now.

I also believe my vibration has gotten alittle worse but not significantly enough for me to park it yet.

Its the constant clicking thats driving me nuts!

yea its irritating.. does the clicking increase with speed??
