dashboard and headlights dim until i hit boost in first gear...whats wrong....alternator has only 500 miles on it and fusible links are all good.....any ideas?

If the voltage drops less then 13V with full load, your regulator is no good. You need a multi-meter for this test. You can also test the condition of your battery and see if it holds its charge, a bad battery can stress out an alternator.

Ultimatedsm said:Well to replace your regulator, you have to open up your alternator, it is internal. It isn't very hard and I think its a $40 dollar part. Well do the tests for sure, maybe your alternator is fine, but your grounds are bad.
