Ok, I got these lights from matrix racing, and it says universal for dsm's eclipse/talon/laser... but the laser's turn signal socket for the light doesn't line up right with the light holder, so what did you guys do to fix this??? and there is a big gap between the bumper and the euro lights, will an eclipse rear end fix that or do i have to fabricate stuff again?

I can't get up pics because I don't have a digital camera... and it sux, but I did fix the whole deal with the clearence lights not wanting to go into their socket, just shaved some stuff, made my own gasket to hold it in, works beautiful, looks beautiful :thumb: , still have the problem with the 1 inch gap between the lights and the bumper  . I figure since they are eclipse tail lights, I figure I will just grab an eclipse bumper from a junkyard.

go to walmart's electronic area, look for a plastic box type thing with a digi cam in it called an Argus digital camera. Its like 25.00 and you need 3 triple A batteries. takes great pics outside :thumb:

I figured it out already, I just need to fabricate a piece of metal into an adapter that raises where the bumper mounts by about an inch up... its cool... looks hot, gonna post pics when i get my kodak plus digital developed, them one time users that give you a pic disk with em.

post pics when you get them :thumb:

:thumb: got myself a 40 dollar POS camera from walmart to use, takes horrible pictures all the time, but this one outta be half decent, the middle piece is just chrome (no reflective red thingers) but the pic is of the passanger side light, I am having one problem with the drivers side light because the plastic is so brittle that the bolt fell out, BUT I got that one figured out and getting fixed too, I still need to run to a junkyard too and get an eclipse rear bumper... but heres the pic.
Aren't they way cooler than those giant stop light style euro lights, and definately way more style than stockys.

Pics to yet come when all the little problems are fixed, but if someone wants to photoshop that sucker onto the back end of my car, it would be way cool of you :thumb:

Oh, and since I have the pic up, the problem is that, see that reflective strip right under everylight and even the middle section, yeah, thats actually connected to the lights, but now there is just a big opening between the lights and the bumper there because these are eclipse lights. They are Matrix style instead of Altez

Alrite, I attached pictures of them on the car, and of the gap that they have... check it out guys, tell me how hot they look, and i know, they'll look 3034304348 times better when I fix that gap. Those are indeed Mitsubishi Eclipse lights literally RIGGED into a Plymouth Laser RS... thats why I know I need an eclipse bumper...

im not any sort of authority on this, but i do think that those lights are going to be that way on any laser..simply because they are designed for an eclipse which has a totally different rear bumper. same thing with the talon, to make those lights work on either a talon or laser you have to get an eclipse rear bumper (OEM) or a body kit piece meant for an eclipse. maybe somebody who knows more about the 1G's can correct me if i am wrong. but that is the way it is with all the 2G talons converting to eclipse tail lights and all. good luck.

thanks, thats what i thought, is that just by getting the bodykit (also made for an eclipse) that it would fix the problem.

if you wanted to take the time and do all the effort you could use fiberglass to create a "filler" piece. i think your easiest solution is to go get an eclipse rear bumper from a junkyard or someone.

yea, a body kit for an eclipse would make it work too. i think that if you got an eclipse body kit you may have to trim a bit off here and there to make some of the laser body work with a eclipse body kit. even still, it would be much easier to trim rather than fab up a piece to work in that gap. im a fan of stock body 1G's though so i would suggest finding the full set of bumpers and all and go from there! :thumb: if not, then you could pick up an eclipse rear bumper or a bumper from a body kit, or a full body kit itself. its up to you man.

wow definitly never saw those lights before. man wish i would have known you a few months back when i sold my stock eclipse rear bumper, would have sold you that. but yea, the eclipse rear will fix your problem.

yeah, but if you know me, i like stuff to look like it belongs there, and that gap makes it look those lights shouldn't be on this car... and I like it to look clean
