Lifter question on rebuilt head

1997 GSX

I just had my entire engine rebuilt *Stock* but I have a few questions on the lifters, I had the guy order new lifters from napa and there is a diffrence in lifter size height wise... why would this be diffrent?

Im thinking that my head might be from a 1g so are the lifters diffreant from 1g to 2g cars?

the valve cover had that came with the head has the mitsubishi logo on it witch is only on the 1g engines right?

any help would be great, my car is just sitting there untill I got this issue resolved, I have a shop waitting to see what lifters to order and I dont want to have to order one lifter of each to find out what lifter I need...

It could be because the old ones were worn and not standing as tall as the should be.

enough to make that big of a difference?

Just checked the head, its a 6GK 2g head, so im still woudering why the lifters from napa were so diffrent from the old oned already in the head...

the head did have a valve cover that has the mitsubishi logo, maybe because its a japanese motor? are the lifters from japanese motors and US motors use diffrent lifters?

one thing you have to realize is that new parts can sometimes differ from the old ones because as you should no now days its all about redesigning everything. it may be a bit different but is the absolute right part. take pistons for instant. the oem pistons for your car have no grooves in them for rods. the now day oem pistons for your car do... see what im saying? good luck.
