Let's talk rims and new tires

Time for me to drop some weight on the car, I have a 17" rota subzero w/ a 225/45/17 toyo proxes 4.
Looking to get some rota slipstreams unless someone can point to another 16" rim that is super light and looks great and won't break the bank.
Also looking for pics of them on a black 2g. Can't decide if I should stay w/ bronze or go polished.
Also looking for the biggest 16" tire I can fit with the most tread. What width and offset do you recommend? The car will be trapping in the 130s by the end of the summer if it isn't already.

Switching the rims alone will get me 10lbs off rotational mass. This should greatly improve some numbers.

What is your image of "light weight" for the rims? I would think anything 20lbs and under would be considered light. Being a 16" rim I would believe most would fit in that category as long as they are street or racing style and not all chrome and "bling".

Just check out tire rack as they give price and weight for the rims.

My current rims are 16.5lbs each, I'm looking for something that is 15lbs or less

From what I've seen, you will be spending money for that kind of weight (at least what I've seen)

Enkei RPF1 are about 225 each and can be had in 15"

Rota is the cheapest lightest I can think of. Usually can find a full set for $600, any lightweight other brand is usually $250-300 a wheel.. work, gram lights and so on

How much are you looking to sell your current wheels for? O, and id go with slipstreams, cheap and light.

If they weren't $1200 I would be all over them. I want to spend $600 or less. I would consider a wheel like that in a 17 because it's super light.

OZ ultraleggera. I have them in 17x8 and I think they weigh 17.5 lbs. 16x7 is 14.75lb. Plus they look nice and aren't too common.

There is a reason for that.

From what I have heard, the first few years of production they had problems with cracking and paint. But they have since fixed the problems. For every bad review there is 100 good ones. Just like any mass produced product. I had some on my eg hatch, but then again, hp and torque levels were no where near the same. I wouldn't hesitate in buying them again.

I have never seen a rota rim crack like that and with as many people run them I doubt it will happen. Devin from boomba racing has a 8sec 2g and has them and if he hasn't cracked them I doubt I will.

jajaja the only way a rim will break is if you hit a big bump at a high rate of speed... Im pretty sure it didn't break for no reason.!!!
