I'm in the process of ordering my winter stuff..And I'm just gonna get new gauges, and get a couple of them..

I'm partial to the auto meter ultralite gauges..I like the white face, but I also like the carbon ones..Everyone loves the carbon look..

What gauges do you guys like?

I'm getting a new boost gauge, and voltage gauge for sure..Going to delete the radio(I think) and mount the new gauges where the radio used to be..With a peice of black plastic..

Still havn't decided where I'm going to mount the boost gauge..You always gotta keep an eye on boost..

Im a fan of the vent mount for the important stuff like a wideband and boost gauge. But every gauge is important really because if it wasn't important you wouldn't have one right? B ut i am a personal fan of the aem gauges.

Are these supposed to be functional gauges, as in gauges that provide you with critical information quickly and accurately? If so, and assuming that you race in the day-time, get white-faced full-sweep. If not, then get whatever you think is most likely to arouse your passengers.

Ha ha ha no passengers in my ride..Almost ever..

Yes Were talking funtional gauges..Not just put them there cause they look cool..

I used to have all white face autometers..Then my car got broken into and they took my gauges, a couple years ago....So I'm gonna get new ones now that winter is coming..

Also my boost gauge I have sitting here needs to be recalibrated..So I said screw it..I'm just gonna get new stuff...

I don't really drive at night..But I might get lit gauges, just in case..

Even tho' I happen to be a vision scientist of sorts and know that white-face full-sweeps are the best for daytime, I have to admit that the digital PLX gauges that came in my Evo are cool and not that hard to read quickly. That I can set the colors to be congruent with the displayed information helps. That they tap into the ECU (other than the wideband, of course) and can be reprogrammed to display whatever I want in whatever color makes the most sense makes them work for me.

Like I said I don't drive at night much..And don't reallly car if I do drive at night and people see I have gauges.."Ohh gauges he must be modded" I don't care if they think that..

I'm gonna look into other gauges..My mind is not fully made up yet on mounting location and or, which gauges to get beside new boost and voltage gauge..

Just wanted to get some options, and opinions..To see what kinda stuff people are using..

I don't want to spend 500 bux on gauges either..

I love my Defi's but they are on the expensive side (and if they broke in to steal your autometer, bigger chance they'd break in to steal Defi's)

Get voltage/Boost/oil pressure (I assume you have a wideband already). If you want cheap gauges, why not buy another autometer set?

Not to get off topic, but quick question, if I'm running a wideband should I also run a fuel pressure gauge?

They are in some ways redundant. If you're running out of fuel, you'll go lean and see it on the wideband. Of course, if you're going lean, it could be running out of fuel and it could be the tune, so the fuel-pressure gauge is not useless. Personally, I had a wideband in the cabin and a fuel-pressure on the rail. A rewired OE FP was enough for the boost I was running.

That's not a bad price..But I wonder If the A pillar can come in light grey, instead of black..Also not sure If I want all my gauges up on the pillar..

Autometer is what I'm leaning torwards..

I think I pissed someone off before I got work done on my car..Which is why My car got broken into..This was also in a larger town(80K people)..

In my town I could leave the car running sitting outside, and It would be fine..

I don't have a wideband gauge or sensor..I might look into that..Will need it if I ever go with link..

But Boost, voltage is a sure thing..

Will be on a chipped eprom with 450's, for next season on small 16g...Then next winter is when I might go FMIC,Link, Fuel..

Alright cool, I will probably still get one since I will be tuning with link

AEM digital guages all the way. I had issues with glow shift and prosport, but never a issue with AEM. Running oil pressure, water temp, true boost, wideband, and trans temp. Never had issue of course good quality comes with a price, but they all match and function great. Altho i do prefer innovate lc-1 wideband works great and links to dsmlink real well.

i would also give prosport gauges a look. Alot cheaper than defi and still get the speed and accuracy of a digital gauge.

Now that raises a good question..Mechanical(analog), or digital..

I have always had analog..Kinda..My old A/F gause was not mechanical, but it was also did not have numbers on it..It was one of those lean, stoich, rich gauges..The light went from yellow, to green to red I think..

I personally like the Glowshift. What matters is what you like. Your paying for them so make sure you get what you want. I think any gauges will be nice. Also, its sharp on a pillar pod. Thats my opinion.

I like my aem wideband. Pretty easy to read at a glance when needed and isnt blinding bright at night. As for the mech. or dig. ,i prefer my (pressure) type gauges to be mechanical, my boost and oil, and my wb digital. You might not want a mech oil press gauge in the cabin due to leaks! As long as they all match and serve a purpose its all good in my book.

I say stick with your first thought.

BTW these are all mechanical gauges and they are alot faster to react to changes in engine speed than my old electrical ultra lite gauges were.
