Once i get my uicp on i got the greddy rs bov, right now i have a hks ssqv and its vented and has been for 5 months and hasnt affected my car at all except the CEL light is on all the time, do you think once i put the greddy rs on i can leave it vented with no ill effects?

I have a Type S and i have no problems with it not being vented....i dont know i guess some cars are just different.

Go to the tech guides and read up on how to properly vent a bov. Our cars aren't made to vent. HOWEVER, if you follow the tech guide, it tells you to buy a gm mass airflow sensor and what not. They flow better so im guessing it could be beneficial to do so. I haven't myself.

don't see how that's true seeing that your car is expecting that excess air to be there but it isn't...

If your car isn't set up to vent then don't bent! I know they have a recirculation kit out for the RS so that seems like the best way to go

Yea, i ordered the recircuation kit but my intake pipe dosent have the fitting on it too recirculate, i already know about all the stuff i need to properly vent it but i was just asking if maybe someone has done this to there car. I guess i'll just run it vented first to see if it has any problems and if it does i'll just throw my stock intake pipe back on and recirculate so i dont have to spend $75+ just for the intake pipe. thanks:dsm:

some cars react differently than others and also it can be the BOV. i had a 97 gsx with a hks ssqv and no problems with stock mas. now i have a 95 gsx with 6bolt and i have a blitz and i needed a gm maf to stop from stalling out and my idle.

Bah humbug, you guys seriously need to search for this stuff since i've given this speech about 10 times, but i guess i'll do it again.
Yes all cars are different, and all cars will react to venting differently, but whether your car is stalling and idling roughly, or whether your car is acting the same way before you vented, it's still bad. Your stock mass reads air flowing through your turbo and adds the air being recirculated from your BOV. The car then takes that metered air and adds fuel for it. When you vent, your car is basically adding fuel for air not going through the system and in turn makes you run rich. And the list go on about why that's bad, but i'm sure you get the idea and if you don't do a search. A gm maf+translater reads the air before your intake manifold and is therefore adding the exact amount of fuel needed for the exact amount of air metered, not to mention a maf translator is tunable. Thats why you may vent with that setup. I've also read that venting is okay with a 2g mass if you have dsmlink, but i don't have enough knowledge of dsmlink to tell you why or how. Hopefully that points all of you to vent or not to vent guys in the right direction.

I already know what all of that is, i was just asking for personal opinions if anyone has done this or not yet, since my car is fine with my hks vented i was wondering if the greddy would be the same.

even though your car runs fine vented. it will run better recirculated...
