Recirculated O2 housing or recirculate to downpipe?

Recently I've been wanting to recirculate my external wastegate by buying an O2 housing to get the job done....before buying one i got to reading and was informed that I will experience power loss when using the the O2 housing. My next option is routing my dump back into my downpipe 12-18" downstream, although I'm curious if there is still power loss with this method and if it is noticeably better then the housing? Now I've read many posts where people say they've heard you lose power but has anyone personally experienced power loss by going open to recirculated? Thanks

The further away from the turbine the recirculation happens, the better. Gases are hottest as they're leaving the turbo, and a merging wastegate route within 6 inches of the turbine will cause a lot of turbulence. One example I remember is on SRTForums, where a big-turbo SRT dropped 38 whp from recirculating the wastegate going from a dumped setup.

Ideally, if you don't want wastegate growl (I hate it myself), you would get a muffler for the wastegate itself to keep from interrupting turbine flow. However, I don't think a rerouted wastegate 18-24" from the turbo would take much power away.

Correct me if I'm wrong but is there a higher chance of creeping the longer the pipe to the downpipe is? I only ask because to get 18-24" downstream I would need a decently long pipe. I considered the muffler route and if there's a chance I'm potentially looking at power loss and creeping issues I may just go that route.
