Leaky trans

So I just got my Shep rebuilt trans put in my car last month. But for some reason it is starting to leak trans fluid. Anywhere I should check first to find out where its coming from. And how to fix it.

Check your Axle shaft seals.My friend just got his rebuilt and it was leaking from where the axles enter the Trans.

Try & track down the source, axle seals could defently be the source if someone wasn't careful when re-installing the axles. Could also be from the case itself, as its multiple pieces thats sealed with RTV or if you changed your rear main engine seal (or if you didn't & has now started to leak) it could leak as well (but is obviously oil & not tranny fluid). Best bet it to clean it all up & then go for a drive & check it out again, as it should be easier to track the source, if you couldn't tell the exact source before cleaning.

You can also buy dye that goes in the oil and you can watch it with a black light to pinpoint the exact location of the leak.

I was careful with the axle installations. I got the passenger side axle lined up and then gave it some taps to seat it. But I didn't get to careless with it.
