Leaking/No Boost

Ok guys I have a 1998 GS-T. Today on the way home from college the car was running fine. Then i went to get on the Turnipike in NJ and i was accelerating and then i was in fourth and accelerating and feeling none at all. I lowerd my tunes and whenevr i put the pedal to the groud i heard a big swwwwwsssssssssssssssssssss. And so i am guessing it is a boost leak. I got out of the car to check my installation of my HKS bov and everything seemed normal. It sounds whne i am in the car like it is right behind the pasasanger side air bad. Where could this be leaking from. All my connections from my BOV look good. Thanks guys

Did you check to see if the wastegate arm popped off of the flapper? If it's flapping in the wind then you're just pissin' your boost right out the window.

How would i check that and how would i fix it?

I think you have boost leak. If the arm came off the wastegate, you shouldn't hear the noise and car would drive normal like a N/T. Do a boost leak test and post back.

The car drives normally... Like it is a N/T. When the turbo would normally kick in i just hear it. It just goes ssssssss. Its not bucking or any thing. Im just not getting any turbo. Is the wastgate the thing in the front of the engine. The arm does not move. SHould it normally?

sounds like something happened to the turbo! maybe bearings went out or it blew?? I dont know what they do or sound like when they blow, but that sounds like it... let us know what you find out!

also check all of the hoses connected to the turbo, boost controller and intake hoses, hopefully one of those just came off!

It's not suppose to move until reaching certain psi, just make sure the end of the arm is connected to the flapper. (towards the driver side)

No i think its the acutator arm. I looked at it and it looked stuck and had no movemnt at all.. I think the reason i can hear it is because the gate is open and im just venting all the turbo into the air. I dont think the turbo blew becaiuse im still getting the boost gauge to go up and hold. Plus there were NO warning signs the turbo blew... Only 13000 miles on the egnie... So i think the wastegate acutator got stuck...
