Leak tested poor 1G BOV

I have just finished a leak test of my intake system, only to find out that my 1g bov lets go at 5psi I hooked the 2g system back up and it lets go at 4psi. I was told that the 1g would hold up to 21? Will crushing my 1g solve this? how do I know when to stop crushing? Should I forget about these used parts for my car and buy non oem bov or should I try a differnt used 1g?

This, also i wouldn't crush it, the dodge garage mod is all that you need, and it will function better than a crushed bov. DDG- Talon BOV mod for HIGH BOOST

I closed the test off before the throttle body elbow, so no the nipple ontop the bov was unpressurized. I am unsure how else to test for boost leaks. How do I ensure my valves are closed?

For the bov to hold pressure it has to have pressure in the bov supply hose. That is what holds it closed under boost. Leave the upper intercooler pipe hooked to the intake manifold and test it like that. IF you have air leaking past valves than turn the engine over until it isn't. Some of the most crucial things that usually leak are in the throttle body and fuel injector lower isolators so testing it with the intercooler pipe hooked to the intake manifold is a must.
