2G large transmission leak..

so I noticed a diner plate sized puddle of gear oil in my driveway, moved the car for about an hour and there was a puddle bigger then a dvd. I lifted it up and it appears to be coming from the.. input shaft (the flywheel baisically) its all over the bottom of the motor though... is there something It can be that doesn't require pulling the tranny? any help would be great, thanks guys

Is this a gst or gsx? Could be axle seals or if gsx the transfer case input shaft seal. There's also 2 seals for the transfer case. Anything else you would need to pull the trans.

its a gst, I was hoping for axle seals but it doesn't seem likely, any idea how to replace the input shaft seal?

Take trans out and swap! You sure it's coming from inside the bell housing? I would clean up as much as you can. And see if you can pin point the leak. Just be careful if you lost a lot of fluid already. You don't want to run the trans dry. If it is the input shaft and is getting gear oil all over you clutch you must take it out. You will most likely need a new clutch disc if it's super oil soaked.

You have to disassemble the whole trans to replace the input shaft seal. Are you sure its gear oil?

I would get the car on jackstands, and blow everything off with brake clean and compressed air. Then wait to see exactly where it is coming from.

I've also seen fwd transmissions have diff issues from doing burnouts, and put a hole in the case.

It could be crankshaft seal?

Rear main would be leaking regular engine oil. The O.p. says its leaking gear oil.

Yes I'm sure it's gear oil, its 100% coming from the input shaft seal I'm probate going to replace it considering I went to move the car 5 miles to my shop and the transmission died
