Lamborghini Orange Paint

Hey guys, do any of you know a source to get the Lamborghini orange metallic paint? I would appriciate some linkage, and would be glad to offer photos of the finished product

Lambo dealership would have it. Expect to pay in the upwards of 40$ for 6 oz.

Hmm, no aftermarket sources, or places that will ship? I live in southeast Iowa, there aren't many lambo dealers around here...

Just go to a good paint shop, they will be able to mix it up for you!

O'Reilly's usually has a paint shop within their store. I have a friend that works at one and they have codes for almost every paint ever made. Just find the code and have them mix up the paint. Expect that paint to be EXPENSIVE. (read, LOTS OF MONEY)

any decent paint is expensive, but if you can find the paint code before you go to a decent paint shop it will be a big help, a good paint shop will have millions of colors and shades... but if you cant find it before you go, then have fun looking through the books.... do you have any idea what company makes that paint?

No idea, It's called California Orange, looked it up under lambo.

you could call PPG and ask them what they have for it, they should be able to get you something very close to it, if not exact.

Why would the Lamborghini dealership have the paint?!?! People don't wreck Lamborghini's. They aren't a Ford Taurus. You just don't wreck or repair a +$300,000 car.

Dude I make paint at work, I painted a kid's motocross helmet that color last year. It's badass. You have to first base your car all white then lay on the orange in coats. 2-3 coats should do nicely. Nice part is, it's very affordable....like $85 a quart. I can give you PPG numbers if you find a dealer near your place.

the dealership its self won't have it but should have the paint code and they should have a detail shop that could help as well but your better off going to a body shop.

Got all the info you need right here. The factory Lambo color code is 0058, and the PPG codes are 62494 and 62494/2. The color uses a white base, and is topcoated with the orange pearl. At my shop, the base sells for $70.90/Qt, and the topcoat is $124.90/Qt. You'll still need to purchase clear on top of that, and reducer for the paint. This will be a somewhat costly project but well worth it in the end.

we have a PPG plant a few blocks from my house.

So, I don't have any idea how much paint it will take, will I buy multiple quarts, or just one of each?

I was thinking of leaving the roof and such black because of the window trim, i just think it would look tacky if everything buy that big hunk of trim were to be orange.

What do you guys think?

To paint a car the size of a Talon would normally be a 2qt paintjob....however, because you're changing the color (and orange tends to be a VERY transparent color) you might want to go with 3qts to be on the safe side. If you're really interested, talk to a body shop and get an idea of what it would take to paint your car then if you can't get a good deal on the paint out your way I can mix it and ship it to you. Keep in mind that once you buy enough base, midcoat, reducer, clear, and hardener to do the whole car you'll probably have about $600 in materials alone....hence the reason that most guys would probably single-stage the whole car a solid orange for about $100 and call it a day.
