Kyb shock question

Just picked up some new kyb agx shocks and notice the front shocks has a plastic band holding the rod down,is it okay that I cut that band off or do I need to compress it down first?

cut it your fine.

JW how were you planning to compress it?

Cut it put the spring on (with compressor) install tophat tighten nut and voila done.

That strap just keeps the rod from extending. You can actually just push it down with little effort and slide the strap off.
