I run a mishimoto. I cant speak on the Koyo but im satisified. It does the job even with just one fan for the radiator and no fan for the a/c. Honestly i think either one would do the trick.

Both will serve their purpose, but I'd say the Mishomoto.

Had one on my 2g and it was literally a 20 minute job, so easy to install, and I noticed better cooling immediately. I'll be using a Mishomoto on my 1g.

Is it me, but 205-210 seems normal for operating temp

Any who, i was around 216-218 normally, i went with some no name, amazon 1g aluminum radiator and i used 2 pushers one puller with a fan shroud/sheet metal cover to protect the radiator from engine/ehaust heat.
And i used thermal wrap + my own custom shitty sheet metal heat shield and i sit around 190-203 now.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Sounds like I can't go wrong either way. Now I have another question. I can get the Mishimoto Dual core for $100 (used) or the Koyo with 2 slim fans for $200 (used).

Now which one do you pick?

OP, we would prefer you buy new rather than used. We won't get into which is better but I think a good portion of this forum already knows. :)

Let me know if you have any questions!

205-210 is perfect. If you are buying a new rad base don those temps, you are wasting your money.

I forgot to mention that's my temp in winter in colorado when it's 40 degrees outside. I don't have exact numbers for summer, but it was way hotter than 210. (I just got link a few months ago, so I don't have exact numbers). The temp guage is quite a bit higher in summer though. I want to do some preventative measures to keep things cool.

I appreciate your response! I'm going to go with the Mishimoto because I want the dual core. If you want to hook me up with some deals on a new core, send me a pm, email or text. :thumb: Erik Tande 720-402-5933

Otherwise, I'm going to have to go used to keep in my budget. :thumb:

above 216 is where I start to pay attention. above 220 and I start looking for issues in the cooling system/hg.

I have a triple core Mishimoto that I'm no longer using.

I had 0 issues with that in 95* heat.

My only advice would be to mount your stock fans on the new radiator. It might take some modification (there's a write-up on here somewhere), but most slim fans are a downgrade over stock.

I run with the koyo on my 2g. It does run great. It runs about 190-200 if that i say. I dont have gauge though. It is a triple core so if you have any more questions i will do my best to answer.
