Knocking under VC @ 1.5K-2K RPMs

Ok first off This is my friends car hes got the same exact car so bare with me...His car is knocking under the VC at 1500-2000 RPMs and it sounds like a lifter but its loud. thats 1 thing. the second thing is the car seems to not want to go, and i drove it, it feels as if an injector is dead or something, im not forsure since ive never encounter this problem before. the car has had 2 dead injectors before so its possible this has happened again. basicly the VC has a knocking noise and the car is acting like a 420A z. but yea ### get back to me ### we need them DSMs out there runnin right.

Hi!

I had a strong ticking sound like that at approximately 2000rpm. When I opened it up here the other day, I discovered a spun rod bearing and general bearing failure.. Checked end-play?

Hope it's not the problem. Just some input.

First it could be a rod knock. What I would do is start the car pull each spark plug wire out at a time to see if it quiets the niose. If it does either rod or wriest pin is bad.
