Yes, I searched. First of all, I'm changing out my knock sensor soon. 67 dollars shipped is the cheapest I could find--at Conicelli. Anyway, I'm assuming I can take the intake manifold bracket off without anything happening? I was able to reach the sensor pretty easily the other day from underneath the car. What size open-ended wrench do I use to remove it? Or should I use another tool? Also, from people who have done this install before. What do I disconnect before removing the sensor with a wrench? Thanks.

knock sensor you mean? I just want to use the easiest tool so I don't have to remove everything!

I just read a recent post on dsmtalk where Taboo said to only tighten the knock sensor finger tight. I'm assuming I'm going to have to cut the wire coming out of the sensor in order to get an open ended socket on there...? What size socket?

When I did my knock sensor I was able to get to it pretty easy by taking out the battery and removing the egr. That gave me enough room to slide an adjustable wrench on it. Just slide the wrench in between the starter and the block. You can also disconnect the knock sensor harness which is snapped on to the manifold stay bracket.

Here's a pic of one end of the harness on the bracket. It simply slides off. I actually tore my wire when I was pulling the intake manifold in this pic because I forgot to slide the harness off of the bracket :shhh:

How many bolts for the EGR? I installed a blockoff plate about a year ago which was easy. I think I might try your way instead of getting to the knock sensor from underneath the car...
