Ok Ive ben having some issues with knock. Heres my ENTIRE SETUP'

Ok at the moment im only running 15lbs of boost. I also installed a new knock sensor. second gear i get no knock. 3ard 4th and 5th i get knock. Im going off of the stock boost gauge thats ben convetrted to a kncok conuter. I was told each time the gauge goes up its 3 counts of knock. If i go by the gauge ill see like 15 counts or more. my a/fs are like low 11s . any ideas on what i should check for? what me settings should be? any help would be great thanks!
 
Have you checked your base timing with timing light?

You have timing control with a DSMChip? How many degrees peak timing are you shooting for? I would think about 21* with 8.5:1CR and low 11 AFR.
 
i want to run more boost like 25ish psi. im not going to up the boost with it knocking like this. Ill have to check it with a light asap hopefully monday. as far as the timing goes i can up the timing x amount of degress across the board. if i leave it at 0 its like what the stock ecu would be set at. its at 0 i was told i would only need to up the timing or really should if i were running race gas.
 
i havent check it with a light yet but how do i change it if the timing is off? as far as the chip goes its a option in the maf pro progam itself i set a board with rpms and then i can add timing on it. right now its at 0 so i dont add any timing i can add up to 9 degrees i think

Let me guess. You are getting knock at about 5500-6000 rpms. I am attaching a screen shot of DSMLink showing the values for a stock 1g timing curve.

IMO, you are really going to need better timing control to run pump gas with 8.5 CR & low 11 AFR with a 1g ECU shooting for 22-25* at 5500-6000.

However, I think the 2g timing curve is too low to shoot for. I run a modified 1g curve on 9:1 CR and mid 11 AFR. I shoot for about 19-20* peak timing. I just pull the sliders down until it reads 19-20 across the bottom.

well form the pic you sent my maf pro gram is pretty much the same with the timing adjustment. its set to 0. i get knock almost as soon as i hit boost.
 
Ok im guessing its timing ill have to checked on monday if all goes well. it all dpends on weahter two stroms on there way here between now and then. Im worried about the damage i could of done from it knocking. Anything i should worry about or look for?
 
make sure base timming is at 5deg with the ecu grounded, if i remember the maf pro has timing control.......from 4500rpm-7k at full throttle set it to 15deg-17deg...its a good place to start at 15psi. if you dont get any knock then turn up the boost till you start getting counts. you dont want to run a very low timing ### your egt's will get very hot. make sure your using bpr7's at least and they are gapped to 26-28, also if you start a pull from 3k and you get knock try a pull from 4500rpm and see if you still get counts.
 
Ok well i had thought about things the other day and realzied that i had to take the cam sensor off a while back. I loosend up the bolts and moved the cam sensor. Took the car for a ride and it had no counts of knock. i did notice at high rpms i heard a back fire once or twice. Im guess that im not running enough timing now would this be correct?
 
I know its not running to much timing now or it would be knocking. Im going to take it to a friends shop and have him set it for me when im not being so lazy and in the mood to do it. As of right now the cars sitting in the driveway under a car cover i dont drive it when theres snow on a ground

Just wondering what injector setting u have the MAF-T pro set to ...i had a chip from jeff set for 510cc injectors and i thought i was supposed to set the Translator to 510 but that was not the case ...if u get knock set the translator to smaller injector setting till u get rid of the knock and then fine tune out the extra fuel with the nobs ...also the dsm chip compensates for larger injectors so it should be set to 450cc so the ecu sees full airflow ...this jeff him self explained to me cause i was making the same mistake and could not get rid of the knock counts..,good luck homie ...email jeff if u need further asistance with ## dsm chip great guy to work with....:thumb::talon::talon:
