Hey guys, ive searched all over the forums, and i havnt found what im looking for. Im currently battling an idle issue, and came to find out the other day that my BISS screw was completely backed out. so i turned off my car, tightened it just slightly (not even finger tight) and it seemed to make a huge difference. I am wondering however, how tight it should be? Of all the posts ive seen, alot of them say that it will say in the repair manual, but ive looked and looked for it in there and cant find anything about the BISS screw! Can someone check their repair manual and tell me what page its on????

If Im not mistaken, that controls the idle on the car, the screw does not have to be tight, but your idle does have to be like at 850-975 rpm at idle. Someone corect me if I'm wrong!!!
 
Roughly the BISS is about a turn and a half from all the way in on the cars I've worked on.
The o-ring on the top often dries out making the BISS easy to turn and doesn't seal well.

Your correct and the ECU is programmed to maintain that. If your idle is something different and you don't have a reprogrammed ECU you've caused the ISC to run out of range and it's no longer functional.
