SO MUCH POWER... NT 3000GT ? They have more power than a NT eclipse, and probably make decent torque, being a V6, but... it's heavy. Power doesn't make a car fast, it's the power to weight ratio. 2GNTs are heavy and underpowered for what they weigh. I'd say a 3000 GT is in the same boat, maybe worse. I had an SL give me a flyby. I saw him coming up, and I was pulling his ass in my auto NT. I have added some more stuff since then. I had an intake and a muffler. . I'm sure from a launch, 1 would probably get too far ahead, seeing how a V6 will put down more TQ. But on the highway, they really haven't ever impressed me. The guys around here that drive them think they are the shit, and they do fly by's all the time. I think pretty much everyone eats them alive when it grows old. They are cool cars, but weight issues suck with any of the NT cars.

nt 3kgts are slower than 1g n/ts...heheh i have yet to race one but ive seen them race before. most n/t v6s are dogs...unless its a nissan!

yea i think it was mainly driving in my case (not to brag ) cause i am completely stock..havnt touched a thing yet...im assuming he was the same...none the less its just a great feeling cause im gonna turbo this thing sometime soon and i will get to feel this many many more times! :laugh:

I bought a 95 Eclipse RS new in 95, and I just bought my Son a 95 Eclipse GS and my car is in my sig, with just BPUs. I'll run you from a roll or from a dead stop any time. Don't get me wrong, I love the Eclipse, that's why I've bought 2 but an 4 cylinder NA Eclipse is not going to hang with a DOHC NA 3000GT.

I don't mean to come on here and start a rucus, but i'd have my money on a 3kgt n/a dohc on the hiway vs. a n/t 2G considering both are good drivers.
My other vehicle right now is a 1996 dodge ram 5.9, and with only intake and exhaust, i walk All over 2G n/t's. Every 3kgt i've raced has beat me. My truck can pull about 5 carlengths on a 2G nt from a 60-120 roll, yet a 3kgt n/a will always beat me no matter what roll we start from. I'm using my truck here as a medium for comparison.

Please don't be a dumbass. A dohc v6 n/a 3kgt will OWN you, i saw your profile he will eat you alive my friend . Those 3kgt's dohc run mid 14s stock, THATS STOCK.....we can however take a 3kgt v6 SOHC please do not mistake the two.....noob j/k

yes u have a turbo, the other guy who posted in his profile does not and his mod list was "couple of bolt ons" so he could, with good driving, take the v6 sohc not a dohc

I have a 94 Base 3000GT. 3L 6cyl 24V DOHC, 222hp @ 6000rpm, 205 lbs ft torque@ 4500rpm and it weighs 3,197 lbs I have a 5 speed Manual Trany. I have BPUs


2nd Gen NA Eclipse has a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with 140-horsepower with 130 or 148 lbs ft torque depending on which engine and weighed 2767


If you think the difference of 430 lbs will overcome the hp and torque difference I'd say pass the pipe.

I'd take him if he left the spray alone. Also in his quote he said a 3000GT would ba easy for a NA Eclipse.

try your luck with a 1st gen. with I/H/E work done. ive seen a NA take a 3kgt from a stop by about 2 cars. both were sticks but the 3kgt only had intake and a muffler. now those weights that you have are curb weights, now im pretty sure when you factor in whether there is stereo equiptment in the car and fuel amount and other factors the weight is a bit more. my 1g weights 2910 with me in it. mind you im 140lbs and thats with the spare tire some junk as well as 1/3 tank of gas. im pretty sure taht if i remove my sunroof (yes its removable) and the spare tire and tools as well as some misc things like garbage and some lighter rims i can get my car down about 150-200 lbs more. there are so many things to take into account when racing. if equal wieght drivers as well ass equal skilled drivers raced it would be a close race, the 3kgt does have more power. but its all about shifting when they are that close. id be glad to race an equally modded 3kgt NA in my eclipse.

I don't get your point, you can do things to make any car lighter. And it would not be close, period unless the 3000GT were sick or the driver just plain sucked. Look, I've been driving 24 years. I've driven many fast cars in those years. I know the NA 3000GT isn't the fastest thing on the road, but you can't look at the specs I posted above and say it would be close. If drivers were equal and the cars were both runing well, it wouldn't even be a race. Also I'm not talking about cars that are modded. If you want to say try a 1st gen. with I/H/E work done, I'll say try a 3000Gt NA with a Twin Turbo coversion running 13Gs. I'm talking stock or equally moded cars.

Yeah, I've seen the Ricefighter on 3SI.org. mid 14s in a stock NA is pushing it a bit

hehe, ya man thats evan...kid is so funny , he's in that club too......I remember the 1st time i met him, there was this otehr kid there and he was telling us the story of how his tranny went.....well i kne he was kidding around but this other kid didn't. Evan told him that the tranny ripped right thru the firewall in full boost as he was bangin on the tranny after a long day at work and it ripped thru the firewall n cut his nut sac, i kne his tranny went but after that i stopped beleiving him...well this other kid bought it all up, then Evan told him "ya man that shit cut my sac in half, got an infection from it "
