2G Keyless trunk

I have a Clifford alarm installed on my 1997 GST and the keyless entry for the doors work and not the trunk.

Did my car come with factory remote trunk release ? I would like to add this feature to my car using my Clifford remote.

I know there are solenoid kits you can buy but it looks like I don't need it from looking at the rear latch mechanism there are wires going to the lock...

No. The eclipse was before the keyless trunk release best you get is the pop leaver in the cab

The wires to the hatch latch are for the door ajar light and dome lights. There is no solenoid in the latch. It is cable drive

Now I will have to buy the solenoid. Do you know which solenoid is best because there are two I am looking at. The spal heavy duty one and the DEI one.

I had a dei solenoid with my viper alarm on mine for years and it worked great. Probably about 14 years total and never failed.
