dartmouth,
I have a 91 plymouth laser RS and the key for the ignition will not work on the door locks. It fits in all the way but it will not turn on either door. The Serial number on the key matches the number on the door lock cylinder. Someone told me his eagle talon used a different key for the doors then ignition, does anyone know if its usually like that or is it suppose to be the same key for ignition and doors?

on my car i use the same key for igniton and door but my buddy with a 91 talon has to use one for the door and one for the igniton ....so i dont know ... is your key the original maybe that would be the problem if its not

hmmmm weird i had the same problem but with my hatch, i could turn my car on and use the doors but it wouldnt open my hatch. and at the time on the old RS any key would open the hatch. even a screwdriver

Go to a real locksmith and tell them the trouble, ask them to cut you new keys. They understand how the tumbler pins wear down, and how to compensate for it. It may take a couple of tries, but you'll be much happier when he's done. And it should be a lot less than $20.
