Just picked my car from shop.. Car is in bad shape.. Please! Help!

Hi Guys,

Ok I have a 98 gsx. I blew my engine in October, My friend said he could fix it! He couldn't.. Dropped it to a shop over here in Houston to rebuild.. They told me 3 days max. it's been over a month.. Picked it up yesterday it seemed to run fine.. then it just went to crap. engine light came on, a/c not blowing cold, leaking oil from turbo from what I see, when I was driving home it started dying out..not idling, my wideband is in RED!, it's just a whole mess. So I turned it back to shop today. I know it's been sitting forever. But I expected it to run smooth. I guess nothing goes my way with this car..

My mod's are 550's, 255 wally, 16g, aem fpr, not to much! my last thread they said it would only need minor tuning if set up is the same. So I ask you guys for any advice or answers to my problem! anything would help thanks!

Oh is that normal I had them install a stage2 clutch with 11lbs flywheel and it's felt like the pedal is soft goes all the way down when I stepped on it.. Is that the way it's suppose to be? or is it supposed to be hard to step on..

Is anyone in the Humble area with experience with this car, Willing to help me out? Just thought I should put that out there.. It's been way to long without my car.. and to make it worse we been using 1 car since October.. Not working out at all...

Well what did the shop do while it was in there? What was "blown" on the motor originally?

It was #2 piston had to buy a new one.... the shop had head & block as well as the crank.. sent to the machine shop.. got it hot tanked, honed, and surfaced, also had the pistons & rods mic'd... that's about it then they put it back together.. it was in pieces already from what my friend did.. the head and crank had been to the machine shop twice.. the shop & friend..

What was the CEL for? What part of the turbo was leaking? Im sure the AC has nothing to do with it: they prob just didnt recharge the system... its possible they just forgot to hook something up like the IAC or something and thats causing the CEL and bad idle...

Also try adujusting your clutch and bleeding it more, and have you checked for boost leaks? It sounds like they just kinda slapped everything together.

Turbo98, it looked like from the bottom where the oil return line is but where it connects to the turbo not oil pan..

Yes, I guess they got tired of me bugging them about my car....!! Thanks for the help guys hopefully they fix it all real soon... the guy said they dont get alot of awd/ turbo eclipse's... in other words it looks like they dont have a clue...

Its all good bro But just tighten it! It doesnt sound like you have anything major though, just alot of small things the shop looked over.

yes i guess just alot of minor stuff.... no real major knocks it just scared me when it started dying out ... the guy said its gonna run a little rough until it is broken in... what do you think?

I dont see why it would run rough until its broken in...
I do not like this shop already

Just make sure you break it in properly and youl be set, vary the rpms and change the oil frequently.

Yea it shouldnt really run rough-- not like youre describing it... are they updating you on what they are doing to it or what?

From here on I suggest you start learning to work on the car yourself if you plan on keeping it

Turbo98 , I know buddy... I plan on it... Thanks for the advice.... I gotta call them everyday and ask what's been going on with my car.. Then they will me a update! As far as them calling me themselves they never did.... hopefully everything goes well...
