There is a rectangular shaped dent on the last bend right before the muffler. Is it supposed to be there? It is like a perfect rectangular shape and kinda looks like it was stamped on there purposely, but I just wanted to be sure.. Thanks.

LOL. I bet. Much funner too. I appreciate all your help.

LOL.. I am glad to hear the downpipe is nice. I look forward to it being delivered tomorrow. That is as long as UPS dont mess up again, bastards!

Anotherquestion. Do you recommend putting any type of sealant between the pipe connections or are the gasket things that come with the exhaust enough?

I don't know..The megan exhaust on my 1g has that crimp in it but its right by the rear end makes it clear a little better. I'm not sure but it might be that for a 2g awd car. I'm not really sure.

I'm wondering if that dent is a result of thier pipe bending machine clamps. Its a bummer having that on a brand new piece, but i wouldn't worry about it, i doubt you would feel a difference. Hows the dp look?

Im actually confused about that dent. I bought just a plain jane ebay exhaust. No indentations, nothing. It actually would have been helpful on the piece that goes up over the axle but thats about it. I haven't seen that on any megan racing exhausts that my friends have. That's extremely wierd.

yea except when i ordered my exhuast form MR i recieved a FWD system and they swore it was awd. so i took the loss and got an N1 system which i love OMG

You didnt try to send it back
I would have put an explosive device in with it ROFL

Are they AWD. Im pretty sure those dont have the dents. At least on the 2g ones  They told me it was for fitment I think they just messed up on a bunch of them and dont want to fess up WTF

That dent will not make a difference in performance what so ever.

I would recommend using a little black RTV on the gaskets themselves and bolt it down.

And if you want an install guide on the downpipe look in the tech section for my write up. It is a different downpipe but they all are the same, really.

The install for both the catback and the downpipe are rediculously easy.

I love their downpipe no dents ROFL
I had that but went with RRE EvoIII slanted downpipe short so
I can throw a cat on it for E-Check :thumb:
Hurry up and put it on with pics so I can see what it looks like again LOL
Also let me know if it rattles at all

Very weird it has that dent, the apexi one i have has nothing on it. is that a over axle catback?
Also had such a hard time getting the stock muffler off, had the bolts off but just couldnt get it off to save my life

Justin... the reason your's looks so much different then the other ones you've seen (not talking about the dent), is because you probably were checking out the AWD version. The AWD version has like 3 bends in it... while the FWD version closely resembles a chromed out pretzel. ROFL

No matter what brand of exhaust you get, the only way to fix it is to get an AWD. AWD FTW!!

....I'm still jealous though.

Ahhh I hate you!!! Just rub your AWD in my face!!!!! LOL.. Well your jealous of my exhaust, I am jealous of your AWD (and turbo) so I guess we are even (not really) LOL....

I will let you know if I hear any rattles.

My Apexi system had no dents for clearance. Everything bolted up perfectly. Honestly I don't see the hype about Megan products at all. I guess to each his own.... AWD guys do have it a little better than us FWD guys though. Like take for example the Apexi N1 systems for FWD's is not a true 3 inch exhaust but for AWD they get a true 3 inch.

The hype is the price when compared to the quality of the product. Not all of us can score an N1 turbo back exhaust for like $200 (or whatever ridiculously low price you paid).

Also, the difference in the number of bends between the MR AWD exhaust and the AWD N1 is considerably less.

That's true, I was really lucky with the price I got mine for ($200). I understand but honestly looking at the pic he posted of that Megan system it looks identical to one of those Ebay systems that sell for under $200 shipped from that huge Ebay thread.

I have the Megan Turbo back on my GST.... It has the bend you are complaning about... It helped me. I had a little rattling .. I found it was where the exhaust transitions up, to follow the gas tank heat shield. I trimed the shield a little.. No more problems.

It sounds like it was put there to make sure that there wouldn't be any clearance issues. Even though these are all the same cars, exact fitment can be an issue. Some people may be able to clear the exhaust without the dent... for others it might be just what was needed.

That's my guess.

It only took me about 2 hrs to put on my downpipe and back. The hardest part for me was fitting the flange up and over part of the frame or something, I had to put a dent on the bottom of my trunk to fit it up and in there. I have a GST aswell and its a full 3in stainless like yours but without the gooft dent in it. I think mine is an HKS but I could be wrong i bought it from a person.

I too dented the rear floor.. BFH Mod FTW... I figured since my car was rear ended before it was just off a bit.... Either way, These people talking of the Apex need to realize that Megan racing has less bends, piping looks better, and is a true 3 inch catback. The downpipe does get reduced to 2 3/4 at the O2housing though..

I had a custom 3" exhaust made. It saved me some cash and it was fitted to my car, so it worked out quite well:rocks:; and it is true that the FWD guys get crapped on when it comes to aftermarket exhaust's.:notgood::barf:

something i have found through personal experience if you have clamps on your exhaust pipe before sliding into other pipe rub furnace cement on it,, it will seal any possible leaks that could occur,,and the whole dent thing i did my own exhaust and i didnt need a dent

you get what you pay for, megan racing is junk. My friends exhaust for a different car fit like hell, i had to fix it for him... i told him we would build a custom setup but he was too inpatient.
