Just got a 1999 GSx need some help with a little of everything

1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX AWD 2.0 dohc auto has greddy blow off valve auto
84k black leather
sunroof and garage door opener
auto light pillars
carbon fiber hood with quarter inch steel ( may trade the spoiler)


k bought the car didnt run drained all the fluids and replaced.
found almost all the vacuum leaks (still have questions)
replaced the spark plugsruns pretty good shifts smooth
and whoa la
looks like new timing belt oil pump (maybe whole bottom half of engine)*spark plugs and oil and transmission 7.1l awd)
no leaks everything seems ok
needs exhaust under the car

Im pretty new to dsms but seems ok
what should be my next steps, boost cylonoid thing? etc wires ngk of course
if someone could also post some pictures of there CLEAN engine bays.

Things I can do without having to tune it unless i can bu a tuner later on
boost controller? injectors> easiest and fastes also
you know anything that hepls even unknown common info
O I also need a mitsubishi 16 or 18" wheel only got three.......
I Got a buddy who has a 97 tsi red tsi

I would suggest pickup a wideband or DSMLink because basically no matter what mods you do down the road you will be thankful you got these.

Holy big lettering.

As far as your first modifications to the car, you should really be sure that ALL of your maintenance is up to date. Fluids, belts, boost leaks, etc. How are you testing for vaccum leaks? Too man people hurry and jump into making their car fast without looking out for the well being of their vehicle

Upgrade Path

Note: These vehicles did not come with 18" wheels.

After doing the free path, You should get ECMLink First before going bigger (Turbo).
You will gain so much more power Just with Link. then going with a bigger turbo.

ECMLink can wait, he would have more fun with the basic bolt ons for now. When he wants to get more serious he can get the ECMLink.

ECMLink is the best thing that you can start with, (Mod).
I learned the hard way, putting Bolt on parts and letting the car parked because of tuning problems, and not getting any power at all.
With Link and stock parts even with the stock turbo can make your car more powerful, then upgrading with an EVO3 turbo, Which will cost almost the same price.

Any part that you install, You can manage them with Link and at the same time you learn how to tune, so once you end up upgrading your full car, You have a very good knowledge about getting all the Juice out off you upgrades.
 
He's a 99, there's no need to get ECMlink when he can get a tactrix cable and ceddy mods. I'd highly suggest find a tactrix 2.0 cable used. They're relatively cheap to come by and will net a nice gain if you tune it.

It may be the best (mod) you can start with, but who really gonna spend all that money just to say they can tune their car, which is stock (not me)? The average person needs to hear and see something before tuning comes into the picture. A few bolt ons aint gonna kill him, he dont even need to touch his turbo yet.

Since you're auto, Trans. temp gauge, External Transmission cooler, a real wideband "AEM", and then a Aem Uego boost controller.

Do all maintence items first, and BLT (Boost Leak Test) along with it.

I might not have a 4g63 but this is what I would for the N/T except for the BLT & BST CNTRL.

4. injectors?- Why? You have no way to tune them and adding bigger injectors will yield you nothing at all.
5 fuel rail?- The stock rail will handle more than enough of your goals
6.cai- Wtf is this, a non turbo? You clearly have a whole lot of research ahead of you before you purchase a single thing.
ordered nsx boost controller- sorry but that won't help you much until you have a logger, unless you plan on shortening the life expectancy of your engine real quick

Seriously, did you listen to any of the advice anyone gave? Look at the upgrade path and go from there. It's a whole step by step "what should I buy and when." If you can't follow that path you shouldn't be modding cars.
 
Wow man dont get upset. Seriously we are tryiglng to help by using our experiances and what we have actually found to be best and when so YOU dont just end up wasting your money. Now, that boost controller is pointless without a good aftermarket boost gauge. You will probaboy never reach the power levels to require an upgraded fuel rail. You said you think it has a 1st gen turbo but then said the car is all stock. Which do you have? If its a 14b dont bother with a turbo upgrade because thats alreadyban upgrade for a 2g. And lastly, how are you going to put in new injectors without something to tune them and no basics of said tuning program. With that said, use the resources of this site such as the upgrade paths that have been there forever and many very high powered dsms have followed when they started out. If you wanna do it your way then go ahead but never say we didnt try to help. Good luck with your build.

i think you should just clean the car as much as brand new.. lower it with nice suspension.. FMIC and just put a 16g with afpr and 255 fuel pump, boost controller done.. leave low boost and keep it clean

A cold air intake is what you buy for a N/A car, not a turboed car. I don't know what you're buying that it will run down into the fender or whatever, but more than likely it's a piece of junk.

Edit: Those mirrors look like ass and dear lord is that wing huge. You fly everywhere you go?
