Just Bought a 96 GSX Please help!!!

Hi I just got a 96 GSX but the downpipe is cracked and i need to replace it. The guy told me it's an upgraded turbo but it looks like the small stock turbo to me. Is there any way to tell if it's upgraded or stock??? Does anyone have a pic they can send to me??? My e-mail is [email protected] When i buy the downpipe does it replace that o2 sensor pipe too??? or do i need to buy the o2 pipe also???

Not really sure or anything but isn't the only thing that replaces the o2 housing besides just replacing it a turbo back system?

u dont have to buy the o2 pipe and i think you can tell what kind of turbo it is by reading the turbin houseing numbers but im not sure bout that

No you do not need to replace the O2 housing, just the downpipe unless it is cracked too.

If it is a 14b, or 16g turbo it will have "tdo5h" on the compressor housing, it could also be a t28, which looks like a t25 from the outside. Post some pics of it, and someone will be ably to identify it for you.

Exhaust leaks don't hurt anything, as long as they are after the turbo, just to let you know.

The easiest way to tell if it is the stock turbo is if the LOWER intercooler pipe is in the shape of a S instead of a J. J pipe is needed for pretty much any other turbo except for garret turbos. Garrett Turbos use a S shaped lower intercooler pipe. Course there is always a possibility it is a T28 instead of a T25.

The downpipe doesn't contain O2 sensors anyway, the O2 Housing holds one of the O2 sensors (which is before the downpipe) and the 2nd O2 sensor is back further on the exhaust. While you are at it you mind as well upgrade to a 3" Downpipe and 3" Exhaust setup, it'll make even the stock turbo spool much faster.

Ok here are pics. What's the difference between the cyclone and regular??? The intake manifold says cyclone on it. Ok i do need another o2 housing pipe the one i have is destroyed not the downpipe. Where can i get another o2 housing pipe???
