Just Baught Megasquirt PCB 3.57

OK, so my engine is being built with with the usual, low comp pistons arp studs blah blah blah.... the head is machined but its pretty stock. I have just baught a megasquirt v2 pcb 3.57. I am going to run a .57 trim turbo and some larger injectors but did I make the right purchase on the ECU? its pre-assembled

I know I probably need to do some adjustments but im a total newb and was wondering what else I need to run this. I know of a shop that can tune my car for me and ive done a lot of research but im just lost and confused. please help

I briefly looked at the link but didnt see anything for it being set up for the 420a/neon setup. May need to make sure you get the correct one.

Can you clarify what your asking? If you mean was it a good choice i think its as good as any other stand alone system. the only problem ive heard about it is its not very user friendly. as far as functionalty its a great system as long as either you or the person youre haveing tune it really knows or is really eager to learn the ins and outs of the system. its supposed to have all the same tuning capabilities as lets say the aem ems. you can set launch control and pre stageing and burnout rev limts. you can run boost by gear and sequential injection blah blah blah... its a very capable stand alone if thats what youre worried about.

Also as far as install it shouldnt be too difficult. you may have a couple of things to wire in but it should be pretty much a direct replacement ecu

Ya i was just wondering if i made a good choice in megasquirt and was wondering if it would be easy to program this in. I dont think itll be full standalone but just to get me going safety. I just want to be safe for now. How difficult is it to wire this in? Do i need somthing else? Thanks again im really stressin about this

Like i said it all depends on your skill level and ability to learn. it is considered a full stand alone unit if it replaces your ecu. after looking at the link you provided it looks like you are going to have to build your own harness to plug into it. Thats going to entail finding out what each wire on your existing harness goes to and matching it to the pin on the megasquirt. if you dont know what you are doing dont do it. pay someone else to do this for you or get your money back and go with a more direct fit replacement such as aem ems.

If you don't have much experience with electrical then it will be harder. But there are alot of write ups and YouTube videos to help you do it. Besides an aem standalone megasquirt is a really good decision. I would look up on how to install ms and take a lot of notes. It's good you got the assembled unit all you have to do is tie in the harness with all your sensors. You can keep the stock ecu and have your gauge cluster readings or just run off the megasquirt ecu. Either way works.

Lol because my question went unanswered I will ask again, did you make sure that it will work with a 420a / neon. I think it has to have a certain ignition setup on the MS board to enable to make it work... hence why they sell a 420a specific MS EMS.

No but ive seen around here that it has been used to tune a 420a
