hey i just got the greddy type s and the directions is all in japanese, so how should i set it it says soft and hard on the top what does that mean exactly. i heard some of yall saying something about drilling holes mine came drilled already does that mean it is used any help would be greatly appriciated thank you :dsm:

i dont know about the holes. but i have a greddy type s. the hard/soft you see adjusts the blowoff valve for different amounts of boost. I think it changes the way it sounds too. I never messed with mine because when i bought my car it was already installed and i liked the way it sounded...i know you just turn that little thing on the top..sorry i cant be more specific..if someone doenst answer this i will go out and take some pictures of what i am talking about..- :talon:

There is a small nut on top of your Greddy Type S BOV and I think it is 10mm. Anyhow, you loosen that nut and you can see on the inside that an allen key will fit in the middle of the nut. Tighten and loosen it depending on the boost. If you get it too tight, which is turning that little allen nut to the right, you will get flutter in your BOV which, from what I have heard, is not a healthy thing for your turbo. If you get it too loose, turning the allen nut to the left, you won't hold all of the boost your turbo is putting out. It could take a while to get it adjusted to your specs. The ideal sound is a WHOOSH and not a tongue trilling noise. The tongue trilling noise is flutter and don't let that happen for too long or else you will see the consequences, or so I have heard. After you adjust the allen nut, tighten the 10mm nut as tight as you can and see what it sounds like and adjust from there.

Hope this was some help. I know I repeated myself a couple times.

not to ruin the thread, but I just installed mine too and it has the high pitched whine but when it lets off, it sounds like a grinding sound almost. Maybe that is the flutter sound you guys are talking about. So that is what is bad? Let me know quick so I can adjust it.
